There are three main zones in Bandhavgarh National Park – Magadhi, Khitauli and Panpatta. Each zone has its own entry gate and you need to get a permit to enter each one. The best time to see tigers is between November and June. April and May are particularly good months as the weather is cool and dry and there are lots of baby tigers around.
You can also see leopards, sloth bears, spotted deer, sambar deer, barking deer, wild boar, porcupines, jackals, foxes, civets, jungle cats, ratels, hyenas and mongooses in the park.

When to visit?

The best time to visit Bandhavgarh National Park is between November and June. The park is closed from July to October due to the monsoon season. December and January are the coldest months, with temperatures dipping as low as 5 degrees Celsius at night. February and March are the best months for wildlife spotting, as the animals congregate around water sources during this dry season. April and May are hot, with temperatures reaching up to 40 degrees Celsius during the day.

How to reach?

You can reach Bandhavgarh National Park by air, rail, or road. The nearest airport is in Jabalpur, about 170 kilometers away. The nearest railway station is Umaria, about 40 kilometers away. You can also reach the park by road from Jabalpur, which is about a 4-hour drive.
Once you’re in the park, there are several ways to get around. You can take a safari on an elephant or jeep, or go on a nature walk with a guide. There are also boat rides available on some of the lakes in the park.

What can you do?

You can find accommodation in and around Bandhavgarh National Park. There are a number of resorts, hotels, and guest houses available.
