Overview

The Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve is situated in the Umaria and Katni districts’ eastern Satpura hill range. According to mythology, the name “Bandhavgarh” is derived from the words “Bandhav” (which means brother) and “garh” (which means fort). This fort was created and entrusted to brother Lakshman by Lord Rama to keep an eye on Lanka.

Given the diversity of its flora and fauna, Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve is crucial. The healthy tiger population and variety of herbivores found in the Tiger Reserve are well-known. Due to its diversified ecosystem, which includes hills, valleys, rivers, marshes, and meadows, this area is exceptional in terms of biodiversity.

Area: 1161 sq km (624 core & 537 buffer) approx.

Species to see: Tiger, Leopard, Wild dog, Jungle cat, Hyena, Spotted deer, Sambar deer and Blue bull

Best Time to visit: Between October to June.

Type of Safari: Jeep Safari

Nearest Airports: Jabalpur – 200 km approx.

Things to do: Go for a birding tour or a jeep safari to catch a glimpse of the best wildlife. Also, do not miss out on seeing the Khajuraho temple. Also, the Bandhavgarh fort.

Itinerary

Day 1 :
Jabalpur/ Katni / Umaria - Bandhavgarh

>Arrive at nearest Railway Station / Airport and transfer to Resort.
> Check in at Resort . Experience an introduction and walk around at the property.
> Informative Session / Documentary on wildlife.
>Dinner and lights out with a keen sense of anticipation for the next day.

Day 2 :
Bandhavgarh Safari

> Wakeup call at 4am. Congregate at the reception for morning tea at 4:30. Board your jeeps at 4:45am for the first safari of our expedition.
>Enjoy packed breakfast in the forest courtesy of Sahil Tours And Travels . Guest can also choose breakfast of their choice (must be informed in advance) .
> Return from morning safari around 12 Noon . Freshen up and Lunch is served in the afternoon and soon after we get ready for another thrilling game drive into the forest. We enter the forest core zone at 3/3:30 pm
>Return from the evening safari. Tea/coffee and snacks are waiting.
>Dinner and a restful sleep.

Day 3 :
Bandhavgarh Safari

>We follow the day 2 schedule......Wakeup call at 4am. Congregate at the reception for morning tea at 4:30. Board your jeeps at 4:45am for the first safari of our expedition.
>Enjoy packed breakfast in the forest courtesy of Sahil Tours And Travels . Guest can also choose breakfast of their choice (must be informed in advance) .
> Return from morning safari around 12 Noon . Freshen up and Lunch is served in the afternoon and soon after we get ready for another thrilling game drive into the forest. We enter the forest core zone at 3/3:30 pm

Day 4 :
Bandhavgarh - Bhedaghat - Jabalpur

> Waken up , freshen up , have breakfast and tea . Checkout Room
> Around 12 Noon straight drive to Jabalpur . Bhedaghat and Marble Rock sightseeing .Drop to Jabalpur Airport/ Railway Station . Conclude the tour on reaching your desired location with beautiful memories.

  • 03 Nights/04 Days Accommodation at Resort on Double Occupency Basis in AC Rooms

  • 4 jeep safaris, with 04 guests per jeep , in the core zones of the forest (Tala, Magdhi and Khitauli)

  • Difference in cost arising due to mishaps, political unrest, natural calamities or sudden changes in forest fees, permits etc.
  • Rope way ( Bhedaghat ) and marble rock boating cost is not inclusive

Important Notes

  • NEAREST AIRPORT: JABALPUR. It is a 3.5 hours drive from Jabalpur by car •
  • NEAREST RAILWAY STATION:KATNI/UMARIA. Umaria is 45 minutes by car and Katni is 2 hours
  • PICK UP AND DROP FROM AIRPORT/RAILWAY STATION is AVAILABLE ON REQUEST
  • In Single Occupency , Two people were transfer in Sharing basis by Swift Dzire / Ertiga / Innova Crysta .
  • Check in time at respective resort is 2 pm on day one and check out is at 11:30 am on day 4
  • Delicacies and tea/coffee that are purchased from the stalls at Centre Point are at your own discretion and your own pocket.
  • A night safari at Bandhavgarh can be arranged on request. The night safari is at a buffer zone and is a unique experience. Charges will be extra and will depend on the number of expeditioners.
  • For guests  who would want to have a tour of the nearby villages to interact with the local folk and understand how they closely co-exist with wildlife, we would be more than happy to facilitate and arrange

  • Bandhavgarh National Park is closed on Wednesdays for PM Safari.

  • There are limited safari vehicles allowed to enter in the national parks and are most difficult to book at a short notice. Please book your tour much in advance
